Frankfurt on Foot Tour

3 Hour walking tour of the city
Here are a bunch of pictures taken along the way:
Romerberg Square:
Much of the city was destroyed during WWII, this was all
rebuilt in the 80s to look like an authentic German home.

Back side of the square - this is the walk way from City Hall which is on the square.  I love bridges, especially those flanked with gorgeous fresh flowers - hard to tell from the pictures, but they really were beautiful.

Mercedes Benz - obviously huge here.
Even the garbage trucks and UPS delivery trucks are Mercedes.

The Bull & Bear of the Stock Exchange - one of the largest in the World.
Frankfurt is actually the financial capital of Germany.

Main Train Station - Haubtonhof

Statue of Goethe, most known for his work Faust, in Kaiserplatz.

Dreikong Church - across the Main (pronounced Mine) River from Romerberg Square
Scene at the square around the Opera House, Alte Opera.  The Opera House was under construction so it was covered in scaffolding.  But I thought this picture captured the city perfectly.  We were located in the city center, around the financial district, so there were a ton of business men and women eating lunch and walking around. BTW, every man wears a suit here - maybe I am just not used to it because I am not in downtown H-town, but I thought business casual was the "norm" now unless you have a VERY important meeting.

  2. Oh fakers with those 1980's buildings. You don't see many business suits in Graz. The flowers never cease to spark up my day.

  4. "Statue of Goethe, most known for his work Faust, in Kaiserplatz." Yea, right! I want hands up - anyone know ANYTHING about this statue except what Lindsey captioned from some tour brochure?
